(image courtesy of cagereligion.com) UFC® on FX airs this Friday night and after last night’s prelims on FX I have a few quick notes for the production crew. First, loose the stock FOX lead-in music. What a horrible choice. This isn’t the NFL, PGA or professional bowling from the ’70′s…it’s mixed martial arts. Don’t give [...]
I read a post earlier today where the author was complaining about Gilbert Melendez’s “pedestrian effort” last night. Melendez went the distance retaining his Strikeforce Lightweight belt, winning by wide margin due to aggression and effective striking. Yet, this author felt it was a lackluster effort, and implied it somehow damaged Gilbert’s star power with [...]
All the talk has been about a super fight between Silva and GSP, but what about Jon Jones? GSP isn’t crazy about going up in weight, and Silva is clearly comfortable at 205. If Jones beats Rampage and gets through Evans next, I’m all for him and Silva throwing down. You?
Everybody is on your tip when you’re a future hall-of-fame fighter, that is until there’s a newer, bigger bandwagon to jump on. It pisses me off to no end that well established boxing journalists, not just fans or schmuck bloggers like me, are calling for Mosley to retire after last night’s performance. What a bunch [...]
The crow is in the oven as I type this. I scored it 50-45 GSP. Yeah, I picked Shields to win. Not only that, I picked him to win by TKO. Here’s the thing that’s killing me, and I know none of you johnny-come-lately fans, GSP or Joe Rogan nuthuggers will agree with this, but [...]

Watching this one live was bad enough, as Showtime covered it flawlessy and repeatedly highlighted the referees’ horrible decisions, but I just watched it via DVR. Wow. Let’s hope the IBF announces a mandatory rematch first thing tomorrow…at the very least. Continue Reading

Finally installed the new side-mounted horn to replace that annoying factory “beep beep” with some real noise. Love the new sound & the look. Bonus. Continue Reading

I’m not one for flavored cigars, but as a coffee junkie a couple of months ago I decided to try Drew Estate’s coffee infused Tabak Especial. I was rather surprised that I enjoyed the sweet taste of the wrapper on this stick, so since then I’ve tried a few others including Drew Estate’s Isla del [...] Continue Reading
